Film Club started as a way to meet people and make things together. It’s a space to watch films, share work, and collaborate, especially for people who are just getting started or figuring it out as they go.
Film Club started as a way to meet people and make things together.
I had been working with cameras for a while, mostly teaching myself and figuring it out as I went. When the band I was in stopped getting together, I still wanted to create, but I realized the part I cared about most was building something with other people.
So I started Film Club as a space to watch films, share work, and collaborate, especially for people who are just getting started or still figuring it out.
It’s meant to stay simple, open, and easy to walk into.
We keep things pretty relaxed.
From 7–9pm, we watch short films brought in by the community.
After each one, we take a few minutes to talk about it. What worked, what stood out, what could be better.
Hang out, talk about projects, meet collaborators, or just kick around ideas.
The Script Workshop is a relaxed space to share work, get feedback, and learn from each other.
You can bring something you’re developing, something rough, or just come listen in. Some scripts may be considered for Film Club projects, but the focus is always on conversation and collaboration first.
Table reads came up as a helpful tool during workshops.
Totally optional. You can always bring rough ideas, talk things out, or just listen and give feedback like usual.

The Shop, 900 Camp St, 3rd floor of the CACBring pages, a scene, a rough idea, or just yourself. We read work out loud, talk it through, and help each other make it stronger. No experience needed.
Wednesday, August 5th is last call for community short film treatments. Bring your one-pager and read it to the room. We'll hear them all, give feedback, and the community picks the film we make together.
